Mong Kok Riot Op-Ed

The Mong Kok riot made me feel worried about whats going to happen to HK. If you have heard of this what would you think? Now HK is turning into a paintball arena, everyone is getting hurt, violent and frustrated about what the government is doing to HK. I think the people who protested about this were good and bad because everyone wants to save HK and let things be, but the government is being strict they won't even let shops open in Chinese New Year and the bad side is everyone is just hurting HK and ruining our city. No one is caring that the police are getting hurt when the government just told the police to do their jobs. The crazy thing is lots of people are getting hurt and they're throwing bricks at apartments, BRICKS! I think the government should stop making dumb rules and the citizens should stop getting violent at these things I think that the people should just send letters, messages, etc. I don't think anyone is going to consider this a big problem because no-one is getting what they want.

  1. I agree that it was a really foolish move to take out street markets in some neighborhoods in Hong Kong. I think they shouldn't of rioted and sometimes the government is wrong. However, I don't think Hong Kong is becoming a paintball arena, more like a group with the leaders and supporters not knowing how to run Hong Kong as a city. I think this is a big problem and they should have people negotiate what is the problem and fix this problem. It is not the Police's fault, it is more like the leader's fault.

  2. I think so as well. It is true, sometimes the government can be wrong. Cities and states usually have problems since it mainly is because of the government. They should fix this problem immediately. This problem needs to be fixed!
