Awful Auntie

Before i started reading the book i thought it was about an auntie that was trying to treat a little girl or boy badly to teach the girl or boy a lesson to remember.I thought it was a small cottage house with 4 members of family and for some reason i thought it was in Italy.

Awful Auntie Setting

Awful Auntie takes place in a huge house called Saxby Hall. Sax by Hall is a huge mansion. There are loads of rooms. Stella, the main character, has her bedroom in the upper left side of the house. There is a big lake to the south of the house. If you go north-west, you will find a big greenhouse. Under the house there is a dungeon. The house is old and has been passed through the family. Stella will own the house next. Lady Jane Saxby and Lord Cuthbert Saxby are the original builders of the house.

Awful Auntie Rhyme

Today I am not going to make a map
but instead I will make a rap
Awful Auntie is a book
Is she a crook?
So now let’s get onto it:
This book Is in the past
the doorbell rings and the auntie comes in
now at last the story can begin
Stella is a little girl
She’s rich, has many pearls
She’s next in line to own the house
Huge, with a garden and some grouse
The name of this house is Saxby Hall
It should be Stella’s, til Alberta calls
Alberta is a creepy looking aunt
Her mouth is on a slant
She came to take the mansion
She has no sense of fashion
Now let’s wrap it up and say this is a good read

What will happen? Guess we’ll see.

Big Nate is a comedy comic book about a boy called Nate that causes trouble everywhere.  The book is about him living his life in sixth grade. This book is for 9 and over. It is entertaining and hilarious with good vocabulary. The writing is short and clear. It's not too complicated and easy to understand.
The writing style of this book is a mix of comic panels and illustrations and text. This mixture makes the book feel lively. The drawings are really good and they make reading the book more interesting. In particular, the characters have amazing facial expressions. The illustrations don't take too much space away from the book and they add to the story.
The story should end earlier and the book should be a bit shorter. The book could use a little more illustration and a little less blank space on the page.
I would recommend this book to people that like comedy and serial books. There are quite a few books in the Big Nate series. I highly recommend this to any readers. The jokes are funny and the pictures are nicely drawn.
